Sky Lanterns
At McNally Jackson, kids can create brilliant paper lanterns for the Chinese Lantern Festival, celebrated on the 15th day (first full moon) of the Chinese New Year.  During this festival, hundreds of beautiful Chinese lanterns (also known as sky lanterns) hang all around the houses and streets of Chinese communities.  We’re decorating our cylinder lanterns and spherical lanterns with glitter, Chinese beads, iridescent jewels, dragons, etc.  Kids can also embrace the new year spirit by taking home fortune cookies.
Hosted by Yvonne Brooks.  This Saturday, February 4th, 11:30a.m. Ages 3 to 8. Free.  No reservations required.

Featured Book:  Blackout by John Rocco.
