When steam engines powered the world; Queen Victoria ruled Britannia; and Jules Verne presided with H. G. Wells over the Victorian imagination, Victorian Valentines flourished. At McNally Jackson, we’re wedding the lacy legacy of 19th-century valentines to the cogs and gears of Steampunk sensibililty (aka Victorian futurism). We’ll combine hearts, doilies, ribbons, metallic gears, steampunk stamps, and unique embellishments, as well as pop-up and layering techniques, to construct our handmade Steampunk Victorian Valentines.
Hosted by Yvonne Brooks. Ages 3 to 10. Free.
